Description
A Famille Rose 'Flowers of the Four Seasons' Floriform Bowl, bearing the Jiaqing six-character seal mark in iron red and dating back to the period of 1796-1820, showcases exquisite craftsmanship. The exterior of the bowl features a delicate enamel design, with a top row of sixteen undulating petals that beautifully complement the lobed and gilded mouth rim. Each petal encloses a blossoming branch, including hibiscus, lotus, camellia, prunus, chrysanthemum, and peony. Just below, there is a band adorned with upright petals, enclosing alternating branches of flowers and leaves. The interior and base of the bowl are adorned with a captivating turquoise enamel finish. Measuring 7 inches (17.7 cm) in diameter, this remarkable piece comes with its own box and was acquired by the current owner at Christie's "Important Chinese porcelain and craftsmanship" auction in March 2015.
