DESCRIPTION: Softcover leather photo album of the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exhibition, including images of ceremonies, the Liberty Bell, and photos of Pennsylvania governor Martin Grove Brumbaugh. The 1915 exhibition in San Francisco featured the Liberty Bell, which had been transported west of St. Louis for the first time. Over 10 million people witnessed its journeys by train, millions viewed it at the exhibition, and it was reported that over two million people kissed the bell when it was displayed. PROVENANCE: From the estate of Mary Trost (1933-2022), whose maternal line, the Creighton family, including her mother, Mary, compiled the album from their vacation.
