Undine. By Friedrich de la Motte Fouque and printed in New York City by Doubleday, Page and Co. Illustrated by Arthur Rackham. 1919, 136 pages. Original decorative boards with cloth spine. Fouque (1777-1845) was a German romantic writer. Rackham (1867-1939) was a British book illustrator, who primarily worked with children's literature and fables. He drew in a variety of styes, including pen illustrations and watercolor. MEASUREMENTS: 9-3/4" high x 7-3/8" wide. CONDITION: Rubbing and wear to edges and corners of boards and spine. Discoloration to illustrated end pages at front due to newspapers being left in between pages. Occasional hinge wear throughout text block, with it being most prominent at the back hinge.
