Description
Pair of Chinese Oxblood Red Porcelain Vases, probably late 19th-early 20th century in date, emulates the highly desirable imperial porcelains first made during the 18th century. Copper Oxide is the coloring agent for the glaze fired in a reduction kiln. Porcelains were often glazed so the rims remained white, contrasting with the rich red color. Chinese seal script suggests Jai Qing mark (1796-1820).
