Description: Miniature and illustration of contemporary literature. Signed in the plate below: "Rosmaesler fec.".Johann Adolf Rosmäsler (1770 Leipzig - 1821 Leipzig). German engraver and etching artist, brother of Johann August Rossmäßler. Produced numerous portrait engravings in stipple style. Published the "Gründliche Anweisung zeichnen zu lernen" with a series of 24 sheets after Adam Friedrich Oeser (Leipzig: Carl Cnobloch 1812, 2nd edition 1832).The print comes from the collection of the Munich architect Fritz Hasselmann (1867-1925), with blue collector's mark "F.H." on the verso, Lugt number L.1012. From the famous house "Ludwig Rosenthal's Antiquariat", Munich.
