Description

Early New England handled splint basket, circa 19th Century.
This basket has a round double splint rim with a sturdy splint handle. The handle is held in place to the double rim by nails which look quite old. The rim is covered with crossed splints. Though round at the rim, the basket is woven into a square shape at the base.
Good patina, excellent condition. Measures about 10 1/2" tall, about 7" diameter at the rim.
