Pre-Columbian, South America, Peru, North Coast / Central Andes, Moche Culture 400-500 CE. Museum quality and vibrant slip stirrup vessel of a fat Moche shaman wearing a jaguar ear headdress painted in anthropomorphic style spotting and similar pattern to robes with long vertical lines and a central bow tie to the top, the shaman is holding a large vessel and a close fist which likely held a separately cast ritual object possibly indicating a healing scene, the shaman is seated bare foot with a his skin tone in a reddish brown slip and highlighted throughout in a white/cream colored glaze. Size 7 1/4" H
