An early 20th century Egyptian revival solid walnut, ivory, bone, ebony, purplewood and fruitwood inlaid window seat or long stool 1900-1915 Inlaid with assorted geometric tesserae, fluting, circles, chequered featherbanding and chequered inlay, one end comprising two 'Anubis' god monopodiae terminating in human feet, flanking a central curved triple vertical splat, the toprail and opposing end comprised of two partly adjoined 'Anubis' god tails, the corresponding legs terminating in human feet, approximately: 106cm wide x 55cm deep x 92cm high, (41 1/2in wide x 21 1/2in deep x 36in high) Footnotes: Related Egyptian revival stools (or window seats) sold at auction include; an inlaid stool in the form of an ibis, Christie's, London, 12 June 2002, English and Continental Furniture, lot 330; a pair of inlaid stools each in the form of a leopard, Christie's, New York, 15 June 2005, Decor: European Furniture, lot 325; an inlaid stool formed as two dogs, Christie's, New York, 16 April 2009, European Furniture, lot 191; and an inlaid stool in the form of two panthers, Christie's, London, 22 September 2009, Style and Spirit, lot 101.
