Description
early 19th century; the top inlaid with a scalloped, banded design in three colors of faux marble scagliola, over a frieze applied with six bosses heading six faux marble-painted columnar supports rising from a scalloped plinth inset with a conforming scagliola design, raised on flattened round feet 33 x 69 1/2 x 46 3/4 in. (83.8 x 176.5 x 118.7 cm.) Condition
The scagliola panel of the top with several cracks, a few divots, and scratches throughout, and also with a 5 1/2 in.-diameter white mark or loss of color, an additional area of fainter white marks or color loss, and a 3 in.-diameter area of darkening. The scagliola and faux marble painting possibly later.
