Description
Three Chinese white jade openwork small plaques, comprising a ruyi head form enclosing two flying cranes amongs ruyi clouds, Ming or earlier; an oval form enclosing a flying bird above blossoms, within a border of miniature pearl shape necklace type border; a circular with a shou character surrounded by two openwinged bats, within a border of miniature pearl shape necklace type border, mounted as brooch, all 18th century or earlier. Provenance: The first plaque formerly in an ex. Mid Western USA collection, acquired in China in the 1920s or 30s and thence by descent.
