Description

Butter dish & Cover c.1875, in the Palissy style, the straight sided cover and circular base both with cobalt blue pitted body decorated with large grasses and leaves, the lid with leaves and shells and a seated frog wearing a coat and hat forming the handle with insert. Probably Thomas Sargent or Victor/Achile Barbizet, 8 1/2"d, 5 1/2"h.
