Description
Westhead Moore & Co, Box & Cover c.1875,Inscribed 'Delattre', formed as a grey planked rabbit hutch clad in ivy, a large rabbit peering from a doorway, the lid with cabbage and radish forming the handle, 7". A similar example was shown by T.C. Brown Westhead Moore & Co. at the Paris Exhibition 1878 and can be seen in an etching among a group of other of the company's majolica animal objects in The Illustrated Catalogue of the Paris International Catalogue 1878. The modelor, Francis Delattre, (French, born 1831) created several other animal pieces for Brown Westhead Moore & Co.
