Description
singing monkey posy holders c.1875 designed by Albert Carrier Belleuse, height 4", marks, modeled as a singing monkey dressed in 18th century costume with an open song book on her knee sat next to a barrel with green interior and the other a monkey with mandolin all on a mottled green and dark purple mottled base. Very few examples of this design are known. For original line drawing see "The Parian Phenomenon", Atterbury Batkin 1989, page 107.
