Painting exhibits past restoration. Canvas is not relined. There is a patch en verso that corresponds to the nose of the girl with inpainted "touch-ups." There are two small holes to the lower center of the canvas, and a repaired scratch to the upper left quadrant behind the ear of the girl. Under UV light, there is inpainting to the background foliage behind the girl and boy, and a few scattered inpainted touch-ups. Children's faces are remarkably intact. Minor flaking at top edge of stretcher. Frame has some losses to the gilt and gesso and light separation at mitered corners. In overall good condition.
