'American Ship' and 'Shipbuilding,' English Creamware Black Transfer-Printed Jug for the American Market, Circa 1800. Printed on one side with a view of an American ship, on the other with the poem "Our Mountains are cover'd with Imperial Oak," within a scene depicting wood harvesting and a panoramic port view showing an American ship under construction, and under the spout with a compass inscribed "Come Box the Compass." H: 8 in., W: 7.25 in., D: 5 in.
