Description
Japanese Imari Porcelain Dinner Service, Arita, Mid-Nineteenth Century. Comprising ten 9.625 in. plates, ten 8.5 in. plates, ten 7 in. bowls, ten 5.875 in. bowls, ten rice bowls and two saucers, ten saki cups and eight saucers, each painted in the center in underglaze-blue with a peach, the rim with three roundels, each enclosing a songbird, flowers and a wheel, alternating with three lobed panels of dragons in clouds, all reserved on tapestry fabric panels, painted two character marks in underglaze-blue.
