Description
Quarter plate daguerreotype of an older military officer identified (erroneously) as Vicente Filísola. The image originated from a collection of Texas/Mexican portraits and possibly depicts a prominent subject. Regardless, it is a fine portrait. Interestingly, the photographer made small incisions on the subject’s epaulettes to give them a sparkle when rotated.
Housed in a full leatherette case.
[Mexican-American War, Mexican War, Militaria, Veterans, Ephemera, Late Indian Wars, Texas, Alamo, Sam Houston, Davy Cockett] [Daguerreotype, Ambrotype, Tintype, CDV, Albumen, carte-de-visite, Salt print, Cabinet Card]
