…War Meeting!! Rev. Frederick Starr, Jr., Will address the citizens of… [New York, late 1863. Letterpress broadside. Matted and framed.
An enthusiastic broadside encouraging late-War recruitment. Opening with the patriotic quote, “Rally Round the Flag, Boys, Rally once again!”, the broadside advertises a “War Meeting” with Rev. Frederick Starr, Jr. encouraging all, but especially “All persons enrolled for the Draft” to “Turn Out! Turn Out!”
Frederick Starr, Jr. (1826-1867) was an abolitionist Presbyterian minister who participated in the Free Soil movement during the Bleeding Kansas era.
