Three beautiful color prints of indigenous American tribesmen or chiefs dating from the 1840's to 1870’s. Condition as shown.

(1st Print): “Noco-Shimatt-Tash-Tanaki, Grizzly Bear, Seminole Chief” by Sarony & Company of New York, NY, after an original illustration by Arthur C. V. Schott. The image was published in Volume 1, Chapter III "General Description of the Country" by William H. Emory Nathaniel Michler in Volume 1, Part 1 of the Report on the United States and Mexican Boundary Survey. The volume was printed in 1857 by A. O. P. Nicholson of Washington, D.C. Measures 11.5” by 9”.

(2nd Print): “No-Tin, Chippewa Chief” published by J.T. Bowen of Philadelphia. Originally Plate no. 103 of the 1872 Octavo edition of Thomas L. McKenney and James Hall's History of the Indian Tribes of North America, With Biographical Sketches and Anecdotes of the Principal Chiefs.” Measures 10.5” by 6.5”.

(3rd Print): “Araucanian chief” published by "P.S. Duval & Co's Steam Lithograph. Press, Philadelphia, from a painting by Painting by J.M. Stanley. Circa 1853 print depicting an unidentified chief of the Araucanian peoples of south-central Chile, which, as described by the Spanish in 1536, included the Picunche, Mapuche, and Huilliche peoples. Measures 11.5” by 9”.
