BLAZEK, Rosa and Josepha (1878 – 1922). Group of ephemera related to The Pygopagi Twins. Comprising: a four page Egyptian Hall program, with color chromolithograph portrait to upper cover (London: W.S. Johnson, “Nassau Steam Press”). – an albumen photograph, 2 x 3 ¼”, depicting the young twins in their mother’s lap, in original mailing folder from the London Stereoscopic & Photographic Co., signed “With Respectful Compliments”, addressed to “Major Bell 40 Pall Mall.” – a handbill, “For Members of the Medical Profession Only,” dated Prag, 8th June 1880, describing the twins’ deformities. – a 27-page manuscript attributed to Major William Morrison Bell (1834—1900) titled “The Pygopagi,” about the twins. – a photograph of Rosa Blazek with her son Franz (the Blazeks are only recorded conjoined twins in which one twin conceived and underwent childbirth). – and The Last Illness of the Blazen (Grown-Together) Twins (1922), by Benj. Breakstone.
