A collection of five (5) antique Japanese Edo period Zushi Buddhist traveling icon reliquaries. Lacquered wood, with carved black and gilt accents, and painted lily pad and lotus flower details. Each reliquary represents a small temple, with front hinged doors, featuring a Buddha icon. Includes: (1) Buddha modeled on an elephant; and four (4) Buddha figures modeled on lotus flowers. Largest measures approximately 4" x 2' x 2".
Condition: Fair overall antique condition having moderate age patina and surface wear, with some gilt loss, wood cracking, and possible missing hinged elements. Estate fresh to the market.
