Item Details

Description

An unusual and fine antique settee with incised carving, the crest rail decorated with marquetry and mother-of-pearl inlay in shell and scrolled foliate motifs. Contemporary upholstery. Originally purchased for $1300. Dimensions: H 38.25" x W 48" x D 25" x SH 14.5" Condition: Previously restored and refinished. Legs show slightly different joinery on either side; small repaired loss to back left foot, a few old chips and repaired stress cracks to frame. Small repairs to marquetry inlay. Decorative braces beneath arms may be replacements or later additions. A few tiny pulls to fabric.
