Watercolor and black ink on wove paper, probably from an artist's watercolor sketchbook, untitled abstract with geometric and biomorphic forms, signed with the artist's monogram and dated '39 (*Wassily Kandinsky, 1866-1944). 11 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches. Very good condition overall. Removed from frame for auction inspection, photographing, and shipping. Sold unframed.

*Provenance Note: The consignor's father was friendly with Andre Ostier from the late 1940s until his death in 1994. Ostier, a well-known French photographer who was famously acquainted with many artists and European celebrities of the day, possibly acquired the present drawing directly from the artist, or from a close friend of the artist.
