Description
This is a Mid Century Modern black and chrome desk lamp made by Robert Sonneman for George Kovacs. While working for Kovacs, Sonneman became captivated by the work of the Bauhaus, and began experimenting ideas of functional simplicity in lighting. In 1967, he opened his own studio.
From the Upstate New York estate of Marshall and Kay Lee. Marshall was a well known collector of Pre-Columbian pottery and a talented and well-respected book designer in the publishing industry.
20 1/2" tall. The shade is 6 1/8 x 4 1/8 x 4 1/8". The base is 6 x 4 1/8"

Condition
Areas of wear to the black finish on the shade. Minor oxidation to the chrome stem. The lamp functions normally.
