Description
This is a Pre-Columbian Early Classic Mayan blackware pottery footed bowl with flared rim. It is incised with scalloped/clouds decoration. Dating to 250 A.D-600.
From the Upstate New York estate of Marshall and Kay Lee. Marshall was a well known collector of Pre-Columbian pottery and a talented and well-respected book designer in the publishing industry. The Lee's purchased this bowl in 1986 from The Lands Beyond gallery on Lexington Ave in New York City. This lot is accompanied documentation of the sale and the receipt.
8 5/8" diameter. 3" tall.

There is a tight stable crack to the side wall extending up through the rim. Please examine the images for the best indication of condition.
