"Sunny Boy in the Snow" [volume# 11 of Sunny Boy Series], by Ramy Allison White, illustrated by John M. Foster, published by Barse & Co.; 1928. First Edition.
Hard boards, original green cloth with dark-green lettering and illustration on front board and spine [some wear and soiling: see photos]; 5" x 7.1/2"; monochrome frontispiece on glossy paper, 208 pages + publisher's list of books including 11 volumes of Sunny Boy Series,"Sunny Boy in the Snow" being the last; 3 illustrations, a few page corner folds, very good condition.
Ramy Allison White was the pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate to publish the Sunny Boy series. The series consisted of 14 titles published between 1920 and 1931. The first 10 volumes were originally published by Barse & Company and reprinted by Barse & Hopkins. Grosset & Dunlap issued volumes 11-14, as well as reprints of volumes 1-10. Josephine Lawrence is credited as ghostwriter for the first six titles in this series.
John Miley Foster [1894-1974] American painter and illustrator, mainly active in, New Jersey and Massachusetts. One of his works is in the collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
