Pair of Large Italian Venetian Pier Mirrors

second quarter 20th century, the beveled mirrored crests with central scalloped panels flanked by scrollwork engraved with tendrils and leaves, the beveled mirror plates with beveled mirror surrounds engraved with scrollwork, flowers and cruciform medallions.

In "as found" estate condition. Both examples show distress to silvering. Example A: Upper, middle, and lower left mirrored elements with cracks and glued repairs. Top panel above the mirror has a vertical crack near the left edge. The left-side panel with chips to the lower corner and a repair at the mid right edge. The center right mirrored element has been cracked and reglued. Five decorative rosettes missing. Example B: Upper and lower left mirrored elements broken and reglued. Six decorative rosettes missing, crest with a cracked mirrored element on the left side.
