Description
The hand thrown vase has been etched or molded around the mouth in a bamboo design with leaves and jointed stems. This design has been glazed in a celadon glaze. This design extends only to about the middle of the vase and the rest of the vase is clean. The unglazed body shows very tight potter’s wheel marks.
The mouth has a shiny dark glaze. The foot is shallow and flat. The base is thinly glazed with two sets of marks impressed into it. One is a character within a circle. There are two smaller characters nearby.
MEASUREMENTS
5” (12.7 cm) diameter x 9 ¾” (24.8 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 6.8 oz (1095 g)
CONDITION
There are no breaks, chips, cracks, or repairs. There are kiln flaws, such as a short black line on the body, and a few light spots. There are a few minor scuff marks.
