Description
John Cody (American, 1948- present) "Baby," serpentine. Cody is a self-taught artist and carver living in southern California. He began collecting and carving stones at the age of 18, mainly serpentine stone from the Santa Ynez Valley. Each work is carved and polished by hand - a labor intensive process, the stone then waterproofed and sealed. His work has gained international recognition and his most recent exhibition was in 2019 at the Elverhoj Museum of History and Art. The base is signed by the artist. Size: 8" L x 5" W x 6" H (20.3 cm x 12.7 cm x 15.2 cm)
