Description
Segment from a chasuble or other ecclesiastical robe. Green silk shantung, hand-embroidered and embellished with silk thread, metallic thread, and metallic sequins. An exquisite segment of ecclesiastical embroidery, featuring motifs of flowering branches and grapevines intertwined with a scrolling trellis. Fragment edges trimmed with metallic and silk needlework lace. Dimensions: (Frame) H 57.5" x W 31.75" ; (Textile) H 53" x W 28.25" Condition: Not examined out of frame. Silk with many old repairs, spots of soiling and minor fading. Some losses to embroidery thread and trim. A few scuffs to frame.

All the items in this auction remain at our Annex Gallery in Bridgeport, CT for pickup or shipping. Items must be picked up or shipped in the time frame of Wednesday, July 26th - Friday, August 4th, 9am-5pm, WEEKDAYS.
