Inscription: numbered and inscribed in the printing plate lower left: "921 P?cheurs", signed lower right: "J.P. Sébah".
Date: c. 1900
Description: The photograph shows fishermen at work in the shallow waters of the Nile. Jean-Pascal Sébah, son of the Istanbul-based photographer Pascal Sébah, maintained a studio in Cairo. Like his father, the son was one of the leading exponents of Orientalist photography and received official commissions from Oriental and European royal houses, among others.

Condition
Good condition. A little bit wavy and browned, backing paper a little bit frayed at margins, tear repaired at lower right of centre margin, small stains lower left and upper and upper right, small scuffs left half of image and at margin, overall good.
