Description
VICTORIAN DECORATED CERAMIC AND BRASS KEROSENE VASE LAMP, tan ground with pomegranate textured decoration, vase holder supported by a cast brass foot with scroll arms and a contoured foot, interior of vase with brass font holder lining, underside of vase handpainted "1041", matching decorated ceramic drop-in shoulder cover, No. 2 brass collar impressed for Hinks & Sons. Fitted with a period setup comprising a Hink's duplex burner, impressed on deflector "HINKS & SONS", colorless with frosted finish Sherwood's ball-form shade with overall cut eight-point stars, lower body marked "Sherwood's Birmingham". Probably J. Hinks & Sons. Fourth quarter 19th century. 21 3/4" H to top of shade, 13" H to top of collar, 8 1/2" DOA foot. Shade 7 1/4" H, 4" D fitter.

Condition
Excellent condition, expected wear, drop-in shoulder lacking the font pot. Burner undamaged, shade rims with minute flakes/roughness, most probably as made.
