Antique E Gately & Co Boston Combination edition illustrated Bible Gold guilt.Although the binder on this massive Bible needs work it is simply stunning.The tool leather hardcover with gold guilt or gold leaf scenes are each 1/2" thick and held closed by two Chrome plated brass clasps. This is such an elegant Bible that even the pages edges are gold. Written on the outside edge it reads self pronouncing holy Bible, combination edition, illustrated.Although the only date I can find inside the first few pages of this Bible is 1895, I believe this Bible was made in the first decade of the 20th century, circa 1900. This is due to the first page which reads resented having an area to put in the date starting with 19 (please see photo).The next page is a black and white picture entitled departure from Egypt while the third page, having tissue paper covering, shows a picture of Jesus with a lamb, Joseph with the ten commandment tablets, a picture of the last supper and so much more in color.The beginning of this book shows the comprehensive and critical history of all the books of the holy Bible.That is then followed by colorful maps of many historical religious sites like modern Egypt, the path of Jesus Palestine or the holy Land and Jerusalem.This is all within the first few pages of this beautiful Bible. There are so many illustrations through this whole Bible both black and white and color with the color brilliance absolutely vibrant with some pages being much thicker than others having a lot of gold leaf or guilt. A lot of the colored illustrations read American Lithographic Co. N.Y. in the lower left corners. This does also have the fabric page saver and a thick paper bookmark which reads as "Combination edition" bookmark. The last pages of this bible has areas to write on and place photos into which have no markings and look to have never been used. This bible is 12 3/8" long x 10 3/4" wide & 4 3/8" thick.

The back cover and all pages including illustrations inside this bible are absolutely beautiful. The front cover is detached from the binder and the edge has been torn, partially detached with a couple missing pieces as well. The rest of the Bible looks to be 100% intact with only the first few pages being loose from the binder.
