Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in red base color which contrast against famille rose design color, depicted of abundant peony blossom interspersed foliage. The Chinese name for Peony even translates to most beautiful. The Peonyís thick ruffled blooms and ability to return spring after spring for 100 years. The Peony is mainly known for honor to their entire family through success, Wealth and riches, Romance and romantic love, It symbolizes wealth and honor in the sense of high rank, having an official position, or high social status. The Under base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within blue ring lines. Made in The Years Qianlong Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
