Description
Two mid-20th c. resist dyed turbans: 1)Turban cloth of cotton muslin with wrap resist dye in lahariya technique. Formed into a turban with a pendant cloth tail, with paper supports inside folds. Size: 56'' x 31'' (142 x 79 cm); 2) Long turban cloth, cotton tabby, tie dyed, gold thread. India, 20th c. Size: 296'' x 8'' (752 x 20 cm). Provenance: The Roger Hollander Collection of Indian Mainland Textiles.
