Tan cloth with red spine, decorated in gilt. First Edition.
Signed and inscribed by John Glenn at the half title: "Best regards - John Glenn." This copy from the library of fellow astronaut Gus Grissom. Tipped-in to front cover is a 4-cent Project Mercury stamped, canceled envelope dated Feb 20, 1962. This is the date of John Glenn's space flight when he became the first American to orbit the earth, which he did three times that day. Also laid in is a single-page copy of a document entitled "Endeavour Hookup," apparently in Glenn's writing. Provenance: Includes a signed statement from Mark Grissom, son of the Astronaut Gus Grissom, confirming the family's chain of possession.
