Signed on bottom. 1987Arango was born in Bucaramanga on August 9, 1948, son of father and mother Antioquia Santander, bred in the Eloy, Valenzuela as it is called today to the Botanical gardens, created by his father Luis Arango. Jorge Ivan Arango began his artistic life at the age of 27. He studied at different universities in Peru, Mexico, United States and Italy, such subjects as anatomy as an amphitheater, human figure, engraving, sculpture in stone and bronze, Japanese ceramics and other disciplines. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Advertising and Graphic Design (1976) at the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. During trips to Mexico and Peru he conducted research relating to pre-hispanic cultures and took courses.
