(5) Birdseye Views of 17th c. English Country Estates, handcolored copper etchings by Jan Kip after the original paintings by Leonard Knyrff (1650-1721) for "Britannia Illustrata", also known as "Views of Several of the Queens Palaces and also of the Principal Seats of the Nobility & Gentry of Great Britain" published 1707–09. All unframed, matted, comprised of: the first "Amney, the Seat of Robt. Playdell, Esq." Plate 4: Bird's eye view of the manor house at Ampney Crucis in Gloucestershire; incorporating church, stables, and formal gardens; a river running past in foreground, is from the second volume of the 1724 edition published by Joseph Smith. 14 1/2" x 15 1/2" image. The other four from the first printing published 1707–09 are: "Badminton in the County of Gloucester, one of the seats of the Most Noble and Potent Prince Henry, Duke of Beaufort Marquesse & Earle Worcester Baron Herbert of Chepstow Raglan & Gower, and Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter"; PLUS "Esher Place in ye County of Surry the Seat of Tho Cotton Esq & Philadelphia, his wife, Daughter and Heiress of his Excellency Dr Tho Lynck Kt Late Governor of Jamaica"; PLUS "Sprotbrough near Doncaster in the County of York one of the Seates of the Honble Sr Godfrey Copley Barronet"; PLUS "Glodter City Tho Brown, Esq. Alderman". 14" x 17" impression on 20 1/2" x 25" sheets. Print Shop stamps on mounts.
