On August 11, 1973, in the rec room of an apartment building in the Bronx, a new musical form entered the world. And PashCo is celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop and its origins in 1973. While we may not feature any DJ Kool Herc, known as the first Hip Hop DJ, we will have many more! The genre spread from the underground to the mainstream, thanks to one of the first hip-hop records, Sugarhill Gang’s Rapper’s Delight, released in 1979. PashCo celebrates with an auction that covers not only hip hop, but the genres that were influenced by it including trip hop, house, trance, rap, gangsta, funk, soul, freestyle, ambient, electro, electronic, swing, progressive, downtempo and more ! Afterwards, we'll offer an amazing curated set of rock from our DJ that passed away.
