Description
BUSTS. Late 19th, early 20th century. 1) "HIAWATA". Native American warrior with long flowing hair, stern facial features and headband with bear claw necklace and beaded necklaces with trade medallion wrapped in a tunic. Name is impressed on a scrolled cartouche above a rope tied hatchet and long gun. Side is impressed with "182". SIZE: 13" h. 2) Polychrome painted Native American chief with a full feathered headdress decorated with multicolored ribbons wearing a beaded necklace and bone breastplate on a plinth applied with a round star shield with tassel, battle ax and rawhide bag. "22" is impressed in rear of the head. SIZE: 18" h. 3) "HIAWATA". A polychrome decorated Native American modeled with long flowing hair and a ribbon tied headband, stern features, bear claw necklace, beaded necklaces with trade medallion and orange tunic with green embellishments. Name is impressed on scrolled cartouche. SIZE: 15" h. CONDITION: good to very good overall with minimal flecks and chips. (02-19056-3/TG). $500-1,000.
