Description
Late 19th century. The large ruffled bowl with clear glass edge and chartreuse interior, exterior is pink to white with delicate daisy sprigs and gold gilt leaves. Fitted to the round silver plate figural stand, the dish support with gadrooned edge raised on an inverted stirrup base centering a figural group of windswept Zeus riding a dolphin, attacking a horse; all on a circular plinth with gadrooned edge. Stamped on the underside of the stand "MIddletown Plate Co Quadruple Plate", "808" and "Hard White Metal". SIZE: 10 1/2" h x 11" dia. CONDITION: fine original condition with minor wear to gilt decoration around the rim. (05-762/TG). $800-1,500.
