Description
Late 19th, early 20th century, Japan. 1) The fish serving dish with decorated figures; dancer, musician, attendant and herons, a six character mark on underside of base. 2) Warming dish with a landscape at the center and three figures in kimonos in the center serving food, a volcanic landscape in the distance. Plate with a reservoir below and pouring spouts beneath the rim. A six character mark on the underside. SIZE: Fish is 14 1/4" l. Warming dish is 10" dia. PROVENANCE: From the John Webber Estate of Bangor, Maine. CONDITION: very good. Some wear including fleabites present on the edges. (05-534/TG). $150-200.
