Nathaniel Chapman was a 19th-century American doctor who wrote numerous medical treatises which were published in the American Journal of Medical Sciences. One of his best works was his treatise on fevers which covered not only illness that cause fevers but also hemorrhages and dropsy. Chapman describes the treatment and symptoms of diseases such as Chicken-Pox, measles and rubella, scarlet fever, and hemoptysis.
