Description
1923 Moby Dick Herman Melville Whaling Voyages Mead Color Illustrated CLASSIC
“I know not all that may be coming, but be it what it will, Ill go to it laughing.”
― Herman Melville, Moby-Dick
Moby Dick is perhaps the most famous sea adventure novel of the 19th-century. First appearing in periodicals, Herman Melvilles most famous work saw an initial mix of responses on its way to becoming a Great American Novel, even causing authors like William Faulkner to wish they had written the book themselves. While the work itself is a story of hunting the great whale Moby Dick, it is written with themes social class, good and evil, and even the existence of God.
This 1923 illustrated edition features 13 fine, full-page color plates by Mead Schaeffer and is in fantastic condition with many pages remaining uncut.
