Signed Gerald Ford Warren Commission Letter, Photo - This lot features a hand-signed letter by President Gerald Ford, printed on his personal stationary, regarding the 1964 Warren Commission and its conclusions. The Warren Commission was the 1963 Investigation enacted by Lyndon B. Johnson through Executive Order 11130 regarding the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and confirmed that Lee Harvey Oswald was indeed the assassin of President John F. Kennedy, and that there was no other evidence of foreign or domestic conspiracies associated with the assassination. The letter was signed on August 9, 2001. This lot also includes a color photograph of all members of the Warren Commission presenting the final 888-page report to President Lyndon B. Johnson on September 24, 1964. This photo depicts, from left to right, John McCloy, General Counsel J. Lee Rankin, Senator Richard Russell, then-congressman Gerald Ford, Chief Justice Earl Warren, President Lyndon Johnson, Allen Dulles, Senator John Sherman Cooper, and Congressman Hale Boggs. This framed lot measures approximately 23 in x 14 in. This lot includes the original certificate of authenticity of this item issued by Scott Velvet, President of Hollywood Rock-N Country.
