Al verso invio manoscritto al con il nome del Cavaliere, presso il “Rég.t des gardes françaises”Lettera inviata a Louis Augustin Dastruc De Vintimille, con l’annuncio del conferimento della dignità di Cavaliere dell’Ordre de Saint Louis. Il documento è controfirmato da Claude Louis de Saint Germain, Maresciallo di Campo e Segretario di Stato per la guerra. Il Cavaliere dovrà prestare giuramento davanti al maresciallo duca di Biron colonnello del reggimento delle guardie francesi, e ricevere da lui il riconoscimento e la croce che d'ora in poi dovrà portare sullo stomaco, legata con un nastrino color fuoco.L’Ordre Royal et Militaire de Saint-Louis fu fondato nel 1693. È considerato l'antenato della legion d'onore, con le medesime funzioni. Il 1º gennaio 1791, nel corso della rivoluzione francese, il decreto cambiò il nome dell'ordine in Decorazione Militare, sin quando non venne definitivamente abolito il 15 ottobre 1792.

Folio, 350x235 mm. Strong paper manuscript. French Text on one page, clear cursive chancery handwriting, brown ink. Under the text the signatures "Louis" and "Saint Germain". On the reverse manuscript reference to with the name of the Knight, at the "Rég.t des gardes françaises".
Letter sent to Louis Augustin Dastruc De Vintimille, with the announcement of the conferral of the dignity of Knight of the Ordre de Saint Louis. The document is countersigned by Claude Louis de Saint Germain, Field Marshal and Secretary of State for War.The Knight will have to take an oath before the Marshal Duke of Biron, colonel of the regiment of the French Guards, and receive from him the recognition and the cross that from now on he will have to carry on his stomach, tied with a fire-colored ribbon.L'Ordre Royal et Militaire de Saint-Louis was founded in 1693. It is considered the ancestor of the legion of honor, with the same functions. On 1 January 1791, during the French Revolution, the decree changed the name of the order to Military Decoration, until it was definitively abolished on 15 October 1792.
