Description

Set of desk and chair. Italy, 1950s-60s.
Wood and lacquered wood. Upholstered chair.
In need of restoration. Shows signs of use.
Measurements: 81 x 141 x 78 cm (desk); 90 x 54 x 60 cm (chair).
This is an Italian desk with a refined, functionalist-inspired design, with an open structure, reduced to an elegant play of planes and straight lines. With a wooden structure, the piece of furniture does not follow the typical layout of a conventional desk, but is raised on one side on two legs (one of them with a shelf) and on the other side on a drawer structure. The chromatic contrast between the black and white lacquered wood brings dynamism and avant-garde in equal parts. The desk is accompanied by a chair with bambi-style legs.
