Description
An antique ealry 20th-century painting on paper. Ca. 1910s. A decorative Arabic calligraphy expressing the phrase Bismillahirrahmanirrahim, shortly known as basmala, meaning I write in the God the All - Merciful and All - Compassionate. This saying is usually prefaces Islamic manuscripts. This lot is a copy of the basmala at the head of the Turkish manuscript titled Zahire-i Harzemsah, created in 1290, Seljuk Empire period. Signed in the lower right, Admendan 972. Golden frame. Collectible Oriental Middle Eastern Fine Art, Miniature Painting, Arabic Calligraphy.
