Description
An early 20th century lacquered wooden bookstand or displayer. The piece is decorated with golden ornamental tapestry and military badges. Four badges of the British Royal Engineers with the monogram of George V, king of Great Britain from 1910 to 1936. One badge of the South Lancashire Regiment, a line infantry regiment of the British Army known as the Prince of Wales s Volunteers, with the inscription Egypt, referring to the year 196 when the regiment served in the Middle East.
