This rare volume describes the regulations of the holy infirmary of Malta and for the sick poor of Malta, and the Order of St. John of Jerusalem in England in 1881, and presents tables for the infirmary and the Office of the Commissioners of the Poor Infirm Women (also presented in Italian).
The Knights Hospitaller was a medieval and early modern Catholic military order, a band of Christians who founded a hospital in Jerusalem for the care of the poor and the pilgrims.
